Volunteering at the Minnesota Special Olympics Summer Games

Last Friday, our very own Bridget Axelson, OD and her children spent the day volunteering for the Minnesota Special Olympics Summer Games. The games offered a special program called ‘Opening Eyes’ that helped provide eye care for 460 athletes and fit 573 pairs of glasses, sports goggles, and sunglasses. Many local optometrists and ophthalmologists attended to help support and raise awareness. The Summer Games ran over the course of three days that let participants compete in sports such as track & field, gymnastics, volleyball, and tennis.
